Understanding relevant childhood, developmental and historical experiences to identify patterns over time.
Considering how difficulties affect everyday life and functioning in areas relevant to the individual.
Looking at experiences across relevant settings, which may include home, education, work and relationships as appropriate.
Considering relevant questionnaires, background information and supporting evidence as part of the wider assessment.
Bringing the information together against recognised diagnostic criteria and considering whether another explanation may better account for the difficulties experienced.
ADHD diagnosis is based on a comprehensive clinical assessment — not the result of a screening questionnaire alone.
HOW IT WORKS
A first appointment to discuss the concerns and whether progressing to a full ADHD assessment may be appropriate.
Relevant questionnaires, background information and supporting information are gathered before the diagnostic assessment.
A comprehensive clinical assessment explores symptoms, developmental history and their impact on everyday functioning.
The information gathered is considered together against recognised diagnostic criteria, including whether another explanation needs consideration.
The assessment outcome is explained and documented in a comprehensive clinical report.
If you progress to a full ADHD assessment, your £49 Clinical Triage fee is deducted from the assessment fee.
