Children & Young People Anxiety Wellbeing Assessment

Children & Young People Anxiety Wellbeing Assessment
Specialist Nurse-Led Somatic & Emotional Triage (Ages 6-17)
Investment: £150 | Duration: 60–80 Minutes
Anxious children don't just "worry"—they feel it in their bodies. When a child is struggling with anxiety, it often manifests as physical symptoms: stomach pains, headaches, difficulty sleeping, or extreme emotional "meltdowns." At Ashley House Wellbeing service, we provide a specialist nursing assessment to help parents understand the biological and emotional roots of their child's distress.
What is a Children & Young People Anxiety Assessment?
This is a clinical evaluation of your child's nervous system and emotional regulation. As Specialist Nurses, we move beyond just "talking about feelings" to look at how your child’s body is responding to their world.
We explore:
-
Somatic Mapping: Identifying how anxiety shows up physically for your child (e.g., "flight" or "freeze" responses).
-
The "Window of Tolerance": Helping you understand when your child is reaching a point of sensory or emotional overwhelm.
-
Biological Anchors: Screening for nutritional, sleep, or developmental factors that may be heightening their anxiety.
-
School & Social Triage: Understanding the specific triggers in your child’s daily environment.
Clinical Advocacy
We don't just assess; we empower.
-
The "Why" Behind the Behaviour: We help you see the difference between "defiance" and a "stress response," changing the way you support your child at home.
-
School Support: You walk away with a professional summary that can be shared with schools to explain your child's anxiety from a clinical nursing perspective.
-
Practical Regulation: We provide parents and children with evidence-based "Grounding Tools" to help manage spikes in anxiety in real-time.
What’s Included?

60–80 Minute Specialist Consultation: A private session with parents/caregivers (and the young person where appropriate).
